Kutandara Center is a membership-based community music school. You may register by phone, mail, e-mail or our website. A one-time, non-refundable, per-person $50 or per-family $75 lifetime membership fee is required to register, as well as a deposit of 50% of your total tuition. These payments are non-refundable. The benefits of membership are described in Section II.
The balance of your tuition for classes, workshops, and lessons is due on the first day of class. The balance of your Kamp Kutandara tuition is due four weeks prior to the start date of your Kamp Kutandara session. In the unfortunate event of a check being returned for insufficient funds, you will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
You may participate in Kutandara Center programs after full payment of your membership fee and tuition have been received and your registration form has been completed and signed. Hooray!
Withdrawals must be done in writing in the office during normal business hours by completing a withdrawal form.
For classes, workshops, and lessons, your membership fee and 50% deposit are non-refundable. If you withdraw from a class during the first week of the session, you will receive a refund in the amount of your tuition less any membership fees and deposits. Refunds are given only in the form that payment was made. Credit refunds must be done in person in the office with the card on which payment was originally charged.
If you withdraw from a class, workshop, or lesson series after normal business hours on Friday of the first week of the session or later, no refunds will be given for any reason. Because you have reserved a space in a group for which we have a limited number of spots available, our non-refundable policy applies in every instance.

In the event of insufficient enrollment, classes or workshops may be cancelled no less than seven days prior to the scheduled start date. Kamp Kutandara groups may be cancelled no less than four weeks prior to the scheduled start date. In this situation, you will be notified in writing and all fees paid, including any membership fees for that class, will be refunded in full.
On occasion, an instructor may have to miss a class or lesson. In this situation, a suitable substitute instructor will be provided for you or you will be given notice of class cancellation using e-mail addresses or phone numbers provided to Kutandara Center. In the event of cancellation, the instructor will schedule an alternate day and time to make up the class during the session.
If Boulder Valley School District schools are closed due to inclement weather, Kutandara Center will also be closed for the day. If possible, Kutandara Center staff will attempt to reach all affected students by email.
Cancellation of classes due to closure for bad weather will not result in make-up classes being held.
If you know that you will miss a class, please let us know! It makes a difference when even just one student is absent. We can better plan for your absence if we know in advance. Thanks!
If you miss a marimba class, you may make up that class during the same session by participating in another Kutandara Center marimba class at no charge to you (with the approval of both your instructor and the instructor of the make-up class). Although marimba classes are working on different material, there is enough overlap in material and ability that attending a different class for a make-up may be beneficial to you. If you are unsure of which class to attend for a make-up, please ask your instructor.
You may also schedule and pay for a private lesson to cover missed material. There is no refund or pro-rating for missed classes during a session.
Kutandara Center has a 24-hour cancellation policy for private lessons. You will be billed for lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance of lesson time except in the event of illness or family emergency.
We rely on the phone numbers and email addresses you give us to contact you throughout the session. Please make sure we have your correct information. If you provide us with accurate contact information each session, we will ensure that you receive notification of class cancellations, student concert information and other Kutandara Center news.
As a Kutandara Center student, you will have an opportunity to perform with your class at Kutandara Center sharing and other events. During both instruction and performances, you may be photographed or recorded for Kutandara Center instructional, archival or advertising uses.
At the beginning of each session, we provide a contact list of student names, phone numbers and email addresses to members of your class to be used for Kutandara Center purposes (carpooling, missed lesson information, community building, etc.). We will not distribute your information to anyone outside of your class.
A socially acceptable standard of behavior is expected from even our youngest students. All students should be able to take direction, stay on task, and respect the instructions of staff and teachers. Inappropriate behavior may result in dismissal with no refund at the sole discretion of Kutandara Center directors.
Items left at Kutandara Center will be placed in a lost-and-found near the entry door. At the end of each session any remaining items will be donated to charity. Please take your belongings home with you!
Adult students receive a notebook of Kutandara Center information and an expandable music section that can grow with you as you continue your music making at Kutandara Center. Youth students receive a packet of Kutandara Center information for parents to review at home.

I really appreciate that Kutandara Center offers open studio time as a way for us to practice between classes. It is so generous!.
